The Supergirl Pro is Inspiring and Empowering Girls Sept 20-22 in Oceanside, CA

Now more than ever, girls need strong female role models to look up to. In today's digital world, it's terribly easy for girls to measure their worth in likes and follows, but life is for living, not posing! Girls looking for heroes and moms looking for role models for their impressionable daughters will be stoked to discover the Supergirl Pro.


The Supergirl Pro is an epic three-day event in Oceanside, California where the best surfer girls in the world will showcase their skills. Now in its 18th year running, the Supergirl Pro invites girls to attend the free event where they can watch their favorite surfers and have a chance to meet them and get photos and autographs. Winners of the Supergirl Pro are treated like superheroes, donning Supergirl capes on the podium.

Running September 20-22, 2024, the three-day event held at Oceanside Pier is the world's largest surf event and music festival, and it's for the girls! The event's mission is to empower girls to build their self confidence and strength, to follow their life's passions and set goals.


Event attendees will get to see the best women surfers in the world for both shortboard and longboard contests. The Supergirl Pro in Oceanside, California hosts two surfing contests for women; one for shortboards and one for longboard surfers, both competing at Oceanside Pier.

The shortboard event is hosted by the World Surf League and is the largest women's surfing event in the world! Performing well at this WQS 3000 surf contest provides WSL surfers with a high purse prize, boosting their rankings on the professional surfing tour and getting them closer to qualifying for the pro tour in 2025.


Girls who attend the event get the opportunity to see their favorite surfers up close. The top women in the world have competed at the Supergirl Pro event, including professional surfers Carissa Moore, Caroline Marks, Bethany Hamilton and Stephanie Gilmore. The young women competing in this year's event may likely become world champions one day.

For the longboard competition, Supergirl is partnering with the Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club to co-host the women's longboard surfing contest. Professional women longboarding surfers will be competing in the event, including multiple longboard world champion surfers.


Among the women's longboarding surfers competing in the Supergirl Pro event is Rachael Tilly, who grew up surfing in California and became the youngest-ever woman longboard world champion at the age of 17. She is also coming off of a contest win at the US Open of Surfing.

Another world champion competing in the longboarding division is stylish surfer Jen Smith, a two-time world longboard champion from Pacific Beach, California. And 2023 USA Longboard Champion and 2010 Longboard World Champion surfer Kaitlin Mikkelsen will also be surfing in the Supergirl Pro longboard event. A member of the Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club, she'll be a tough competitor to beat on her home turf!


Girls can find a village of vendors to explore, all geared towards the women. Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) non-profit organization will be educating girls on the importance of breast cancer prevention. Attendees can also visit the Surfrider Foundation pop-up. For more live entertainment, the Supergirl Pro features a free concert series of 15 performances at the Oceanside Amphitheater with musical artists CeeLo Green and Bishop Briggs headlining. The concerts are for all ages, creating a family atmosphere and a fun weekend at a beachside event supporting the girls.
